drunk charity work

Last night was the 13th annual Moonlight Classic bike ride. Over 5,000 bikes participated in the 15 mile loop around Denver. Eric, Eric's cousin Scotty, Eric's high school buddy Nick and I started our evening at Sancho's Broken Arrow. It was my first time there. Sancho's attracts a very hippy clientele but, it seems to be a crowd I would enjoy. The ride was already in progress when we joined at 17th and Washington St. We passed bike after bike but never seemed to reach the front of the crowd. The 4 of us were sporting a slight beer (or in my case wine) buzz. We weaved in and out of bikes. We finally decided to pit stop at Stadium Inn, a DU bar. It was a classic dive shit hole college bar. There was a little bit of underlined attitude which was really unnecessary in this environment, but still very enjoyable. We all enjoyed a shot of Jameson compliments of Eric. We departed Stadium in and headed back towards the city. We biked passed Washington Park then onto Speer Blvd. At some point we lost Eric. He went home, so we made him a deal. Meet us at Funky Buddha. Our ride ended there. sorta. After another shot of Jameson and some more beer we were all feeling pretty good. In the middle of Buddha surrounded by beautiful people we were feeling the beat and began dancing as if we did not have a care in the world. We certainly had reached a supreme buzz. We finished the evening at Pete's Kitchen. Smay and Christine joined us. On the way in we got a good view of a street disturbance where a man ripped his shirt off and was arrested. I am also very happy to report (for those of you well versed in Petes Kitchen tradition.)that the bouncer with the feather in this cap is back. His name is T and he's from Chicago. This is the guy that's famous for shouting at patrons waiting in line to get into the crowded diner on busy nights. I spent the night at Mike and Matts with Bailey. The boys are in San Diego visiting family.
