Compare and Contrast
These before pictures were taken prior to me leaving Minnesota in 2001. The after pictures depict the current state of the neighborhood that has grown around my parents house. During my childhood and even just prior to me leaving Minnesota my parents house on Cottage Grove Drive was surrounded my corn fields and small forests. Today, my parents are being suffocated by suburbia.

Oh god, that's horrible! McMansions & beige!
This makes me so terribly sad. Of course, I wish that the Lake Road extension had been finished when we were still freshman and sophomores (so we could more easily bike and talk about Star Trek and who in choir was gay), but... oy. I miss the beauty of the country that your parents house was surrounded by.
