a walk in the park

Yesterday I hiked my first Colorado 14er, Mt Bierstadt. I found it to be much more relaxing then some less prominent hikes I have done. I had great company. My friends Angela, Kim, Erica and the surprise of the trip Gail accompanied me on the ascend to the summit. Gail who was celebrating her first, well stint, into nature had threatened to bring a bottle of champagne to the summit. I was slightly disappointed when the decision was made not to. I was kind of curious to know how easy it would have been to get ripped at 14,000 feet. The weather cooperated. I only felt 5 rain drops. I did however get very sunburned and I am feeling the pain today. Well worth it and I would do it again in a heart beat.
