On the Eve of the Eve of Thanksgiving

Mancini and Matt threw a killer thanksgiving feast last night. The food was so very good. Apparently the whole feast only required 1 stick of butter. Well done Mancini! I used 2 sticks of butter for my bread pudding and a half a bottle of bourbon. Yes, I made bread pudding. It was a pumpkin bread pudding that I found in this Martha Stewart cookbook Ellen loaned me. It was rather easy and I think it came out ok. I really wish poeple would tell me when my cooking/backing sucks. People are too damned polite. Ok, back to the party. We started with a cheese, nut and cocktail course. Are cocktails considered courses? Then we sat at the beautifully decorated table for melon and prosciutto ham for cleansing the palate. Next was the salad course and finally we ate a fantastic buffet style thanksgiving dinner. This was all followed by dessert and more cocktails. The reviews were raving "Those bitches can throw a party" one couple said. It was a lovely time indeed.

drag queens and boulder what a great mix!

Nothing jump starts your Sunday like a bunch of drag queens serving you brunch. Bump and Grinds Drag Queen Brunch is always a must for visitors. The food is excellent. The service is reminiscent of Saturday night at any local fag bar. Kaiya and Ellen joined us. Rebecka and I then shoved off to Boulder. It was beautiful in Boulder. We shopped the hill then Pearl St. Mall. We headed back to Denver and had a really awesome dinner at Stella. We then had cocktails at Swim Club 32.

It was a great time for me and I hope for Rebecka. Come back soon flower!

taking a new yorker to the mountains can be fun!

Rebecka wanted to see the mountains. We took breakfast in at Racine’s. We met up with Julie and headed for the hills. Rebecka had never been in any mountains. She found it spectacular. We met up with Anne (from last night) at her place of employment, Endo’s Adrenaline Cafe. It smelled like wet dog from all the ski boarders. We headed back down to the city and enjoyed some fondue at La Fondue. It was then back to Sputnik (Julie request.)

a flower has blossomed in denver

My good good friend Rebecka Medin came to visit me over the weekend from NYC. We went to junior high and high school together. We actually really didn't start hanging out hardcore till after we graduated. She went of to UW-Madison to study textiles and I started working for UAL. Eventually she ended up at F.I.T. in NYC and I came to Denver. I have visited her a few times in NYC. She is trying very hard for me to move to NYC and one day I might just crumble.

She arrived early this morning. We went right from the airport to Mona for breakfast. After that we spent 4 hours dealing with a flat tire on the ghetto glide (my car.) She said it was very "Pat of me" to get a flat and this was a proper welcome to Denver. We then took in some shopping at Cherry Creek. Becka's friend Anne, who lived with her in NYC, and her boyfriend joined us for dinner at Watercourse Foods. We all shoved off to Sputnik for a cocktail. Anne and her boyfriend left us and Julie joined us for Lipgloss. Lipgloss was a light crowd. Michael showed up but, ran into trouble later that night: http://frazierblog.blogspot.com/2005/11/blase-trumps-brute.html. Mancini and Chris M. surprised us as well. I danced on the highest point in the bar and Mancini hung from a pipe. We must have been a most amusing group.

party with the bravery, yeah!

Not that it actually means that much to me but, it is something I can say I have now done. After their concert, where the opened for Depeche Mode, they sat in the corner at Lipgloss. Julie and I got an early start at Lipgloss just around 11. Ellen, Mindy, Kaiya and Kaiya's friend Chris joined us around 12ish. I have recently tightened my budget so it was off to the beer troff for me for $2 PBR.

watch out christmas here comes america!

Have you noticed it yet? The Christmas crap. Slowly but surly it is beginning to appear. The commercials have commenced. SHIT! I haven't begun Christmas shopping yet! What am I going to do? My mom asked me yesterday "What do you want for Christmas?" "More time for Christmas shopping" I replied. It should be law that Christmas decorations are not allowed to appear until t he day after Thanksgiving.

SORRY FOR MY ABSENSE
I have been really bad at updating my blog. My apologies, for those of you who depend on my blog for workday boredom relief. I cannot think of anything earth shattering that I should be reporting.

I met this nice guy named Rich last Wednesday. We had cocktails at Parallel 17 then met up with Julie a Frazier at Hi-Dive. Rich is very nice and he knew every word of every song they played. Remarkable! Last night we a couple drinks at his place then shoved off to Broadway’s. A shabby gay bar with moments of decent interior design pieces. The crowd can be described very much the same. It is Rich's spot to hang so I'm sure I'll be back.
