a filth obsession

class was lame. I learned today that it actually takes me longer to drive to school than to ride my bike.

I got my evaluation at work and got the old "what are your aspirations" talk. It was fun!

Eric, Julie and I had some drinks and really good food at Sputnik. Daniel and Michael joined us and we all went next door to the Hi-Dive. Julie said the Dj was horrific or something. I though he was great!!! OK, its time to talk about Bill. Bill is the bartender that only Julie seems to think is gods gift to women and gay men. Bill looks like "Filth" aka "Erotic Hipster". Erotic Hipster (dubbed by Daniel and Michael.) is this short skinny dude with cartoon like black hair (similar to Bill's.) The guy is good looking, no doubt but, it seems that everyone has a special place in their heart for Erotic Hipster, unlike Bill.. thats all Julie!! Oh well ya see Erotic Hipster aka Filth has a tattoo on his arm that reads FILTH. It's really quite dirty but, so intriguing. Filth is ubiquitous within the hipster community. As always, the Hi-Dive was a blast!

perplexing texting!

The world has gone mad texting each other. It quite convenient. We never have to talk to each other, or we can text each other when we normally couldn’t talk (eg. class, boring meetings.) My Philosophy professor chewed a girl out the other day for texting. It was humorous. I personally enjoy the text. Although, I find people texting while talking in person to others. This act is rude! I can't wait for Beep-Boop to get as hot as texting. As always Europe was crazed with texting years ago (like 4.) Although the trend of following Europe's lead gives me hope for an end to the US obesity problem. :-)

tuesday
Woke up late for some reason. Hung over from chicken I suppose. Made it to coffee then lunch with Kaiya and Eric. OK, I like Racines but, their food is so so-so. Eric and I made it to the gym which was good for me. Eric does know what he's doing there, although I don't know if I am the best judge of that. I then persuaded him to attend this little cocktail party at Tish Z's. She has a great view! We had wine and pizza. It was very nice. Ashley invited us to her and TJ's new condo to see it. It is so amazing!!!

revenge of the fat girls!

Class was atrocious. Note to self... no more parties on school nights thanks! Went to the scene of the party the night before to help the girls clean. They were all a mess. After simply accomplishing nothing all day I invited Smay to the Hungarian Freedom Park to listen to me screeched on the violin. Some big queen named Curt came and watched then joined in. We stopped to see Michael and Bailey. The paint job in the kitchen/diningroom look fabulous. Smay and I then decided to be fat girls and get a bucket from KFC. gross! It was so good. I made it to the gym but, my plans to go out fizzled when I got home and crashed don the couch.

fighting the sunday night blues!

Smay and Heidi had a "martini masquerade party" last night. It was a fantastic time. Way to attended to list (and I'm lazy.) It was a great networking function I noticed. People exchanging digits and ideas. I now have a recipe for mojito in my possession. Score! I left relatively early so, I could wake up this morning and be scholar-like. Great Job ladies, you know how to throw a party!

Saturday Blah!

What a magnificently boring day at work. I took Jill home. Brought ice cream home for the girls. Sat on couch with tired Ellen and Ruth and Veg’ed. Ellen is on a really ugly month. I don't know how she does it. I practiced scales (without the bow) on the violin for a while.

hanging out with a bunch of good looking indie kids!

Work was furious! Busy and not enough help. I felt surrounded by needy poeple. This made me tired and not want to go out.

Vivian called and I broke down. Off to Lip Gloss we were.

Smay and Juile met me at my place and we drove down. The crowd was very good looking. My beer girl was there in the corner with her tub of beer. I love her! I wasn't going to drink but, I could'nt resist my beer girl. I drank. I got flat drunk. We met up with Vivian and her friend Dan. I was most pleased to run into Micheal. We all danced and drank and danced again.

We made a quick stop at Burger King on the way home (Thanks Smay! for driving.) and called it a night.

Cheese dick was a no-show apparently because of the 30+ minute wait to get in. We waited for about 1.

happy birthday nicole!

I took the day off which turned out to be a smart idea. I took my first economics test today. I'll let you all know how that turns out. I made it to the gym, did laundry and made 6 quarts of pasta sauce. Oh, and I rented a violin. More details to follow on that!

Micheal called me and invited me to his art show opening at Envy a Salon at 13th & Downing. Julie and I stopped in for a bit. It was quite good. Micheal had perviously done some "art" with hair so, I expected to see hair and, I did. My favorite piece was one Julie and I entitled "Drag Queen in Mourning."

We moved onto dinner at Parallel 17, Denver's newest tapas bar. That of course is not saying much for, there seems to be a new tapas bar in this town every week. The sangria was excellent. The food was OK. The atmosphere was sheek.

We stopped in at the Squealing Pig in Cherry Creek to celebrate Mindy's friend Nicole's birthday. I was introduced to their friend Vivian, who is moving back to China next week. We invited them all to the Hi-Dive.

The food at P17 did not fill me up so I had a quick sandwich at Sputnik. FYI, their food is quite good! Off to the Hi-Dive. The crowd was eclectic as norm. Vivian and her friend Billy showed up. The four of us danced to the 80's

oh how I forget how much i love dave matthews and his band!

Holy Show! Kaiya and I had a fabulous european tailgate party in the parking lot at Red Rocks. We missed the entire opening band act, but we really didn’t care. Things I didn’t necessarily realize until tonight:
  • Dave Matthews fans are a relaxed laid-back nice group of blokes.
  • Dave Matthews is so much more impressive live.
  • Boyd Tinsley is unbelievable on the fiddle played like a violin.

I knew that I would not be able to express myself fully after this show. It was just so surreal. He opened with Don't burn the pig and the play list just got better and better. The crowd chanted tp hear Halloween Dave stopped conferenced with his band mates and the crowd got their wishes. Dream Girl, Lie in our graves, Stand up & Louisiana Bayou live, were all enough to reduce a grown man to tears. I held back.

international relations

Uli & Joerg on CU-Boulder Campus

What a reunion indeed! Joerg was my families foreign exchange student in 1994. Uli was a foreign exchange student in Woodbury, Mn. in 1991 who became very good friends with my brother Mike.

After 4 days in Woodbury, Mn. Uli and Joerg came to Denver to visit me. Joerg and I shared a bedroom for 10 month's when I was in the heat of adolescence and Joerg dealing with having become a young man now far from home, Aurich, Germany. We didn't always see eye to eye on most, well. everything.

Tuesday morning was the first time that we met each other as mature adults. A lot has changed. I have re-made a new friend in Joerg. I think we are both very eager to get to know each other as the men we have begun. Yesterday began what I hope will become a lifetime friendship. As for Uli, she is as lovely and beautiful as ever.

I sent them of to My Grandparents in Las Vegas this morning. I was sad! Oh Germans, please come back soon!

lets talk about kat

Thoughts on Katrina? Donations are being taken at http://www.redcross.org/
Kayia and I are collecting canned goods and will be taking them to the Dave Matthews concert on 9/11. Also if you have clothes you no longer want bring them to us. There is a clothing drive being held at DIA.

Ok back to your thoughts! Morality, Heroism, devastation, Hope. Give me your thoughts!!!

tori, please please please be a corn flake girl!

no corn flakes! Tori Amos has to be one of the most impressive artist of I've ever seen. Things about Tori I didn't know and Maybe should have:
  • She has no band! It was Tori a grand piano and 2 keyboards. That's it!
  • she's Irish
  • She's not a man hater (like that bitch Alanis)

I got rather drunk in the parking lot off of Michaels Martinis. Met some lovely young lesbians (hey ladies! & I use that term loosely) Met some dude named Jonathan (hey lady) and enjoyed Tori immensely. Red Rocks amphitheaters is such an amazing venue. Mike, Matt, Mindy, Kayia, Ellen & I shared this great concert experience together. Thanks guys!

high times at the hi-dive

School, Lunch with the ladies, grocery shopping, chili making, gym, dog walking, cleaning, homework. It was a terribly productive day in the world of Pat. I wasn't the only one! Congratulations Eric S. Eric sold his first car yesterday! James B. Stopped by. It was nice to see my mostly absent neighbor. Arrived outside the Hi-Dive around 11p. It was perfect timing Mike M. Came riding down right behind Eric S. And I. Julie O. Came up right behind Mike. I met a great street performing bum named Too Tall while I was waiting outside. Susan F. Brian and Susan's neighbor Joey showed up about 10 minutes later. I said I wasn't going to drink but then accidentally ended up standing next to the beer boy DOH! The club was slow to fill up which is unusual. It was Erasure that got us all on the dance floor. What a shock! I enjoy the Hi-Dive because there is this layer of homo-erotica that's just awesome. Eric & Mike took off but, the rest of us danced till they kicked us out. Another great Hi-Dive night!!!
